New Hampshire's First Statewide Book Festival Debuts in Concord this October

The first Outdoor+city New Hampshire Book Festival (NHBF) arrives in Concord, NH, October 4-5, 2024. An inaugural event for all ages, the Festival, presented by Ledyard National Bank, will take place at the Capitol Center for the Arts, Gibson’s Bookstore, and on South Main Street, Concord. This two-day gathering of live presentations, panels, and book signings with nationally recognized adult and children’s authors will celebrate literature, conversation and community.

The NHBF will focus Friday morning programming on children’s literacy, featuring a keynote appearance by renowned children’s author Kate DiCamillo. With generous funding from the Judge Family Foundation and Grappone Automotive Group, the NHBF is able to give a copy of
DiCamillo’s soon-to-be released Hotel Balzaar to each child attending this event and offer transportation assistance to Title 1 schools as part of its mission to expand and enhance children’s access to engaging literary opportunities.

On Friday evening, New York Times bestselling author Jean Hanff Korelitz will discuss her captivating new thriller, The Sequel, the follow-up to her blockbuster The Plot.

This two-day festival will feature 40 nationally celebrated, diverse authors, including a children’s and adult keynote, a book-to-screen
family feature film, and FREE interactive author panels and book signings. The all-day Saturday festival along South Main Street will
offer a vibrant selection of books for purchase, author signing tent, music, food trucks, and booths celebrating literacy, conversation, and
community.

New Hampshire is the only New England state without a statewide book festival, an official celebration of reading. The NHBF was formed to
host a statewide book festival to enhance access for New Hampshire residents to literary engagement around books, reading, and writing.

Thanks to the outstanding leadership of NH authors and festival founders, Emilie Christie Burack and Sarah McCraw Crow; work of
dedicated board volunteers; generous grants, and the robust support of partners, sponsors, and donors, the plan for the NHBF 2024 is well
underway.

"There's a real sense of excitement and enthusiasm within our community as we plan the inaugural New Hampshire Book Festival," said
Emilie Christie Burack, Co-Founder and President of NHBF. "We are looking forward to bringing together an amazingly  talented and
diverse group of authors and providing an opportunity for readers of all ages to engage with literature in a meaningful way. This festival
is a celebration of our shared love for reading and the power of storytelling, and we can't wait to share it with the people of New Hampshire and beyond."

Founded in 2023, the New Hampshire Book Festival is a nonprofit established to create a premiere cultural and literary event in the
state that will bring together authors, readers and writers of all ages and from all parts of the state and beyond. Partners and sponsors
include: City of Concord, NH Humanities, NH Center for the Book, Ledyard National Bank, and the Grappone Companies.
