The ACA Marketplace Open Enrollment period starts on November 1, 2023, and runs until January 16, 2024. New Hampshire residents are encouraged to visit HealthCare.gov to explore their options, access financial assistance, and make the best choice for their healthcare needs.

Thanks to the American Rescue Plan (ARP) and the Inflation Reduction Act, financial assistance continues to be accessible through 2025, with four out of five HealthCare.gov customers finding health care coverage for $10 or less per month after subsidies.

"Every citizen in New Hampshire has access to affordable and comprehensive healthcare coverage," said Zandra Rice-Hawkins from Covering New Hampshire. "New enhancements to the ACA Marketplace Open Enrollment process reflect our dedication to simplifying healthcare choices, promoting health equity, and empowering our residents to make informed decisions about their well-being."

To streamline the selection process and improve consumer experience, issuers offering plans through the Marketplace will be limited in offering non-standardized plan options, reducing the risk of suboptimal choices and unexpected financial strain. Moreover, the automatic re-enrollment process has been updated to help consumers access cost savings efficiently. Certain income-based cost-sharing reduction (CSR)-eligible enrollees will be automatically re-enrolled in a Silver plan, ensuring higher value coverage for the same or lower monthly premiums.

New Hampshire offers free enrollment assistance through NH Navigator programs. To contact an insurance navigator go to https://acanavigator.com/nh/home  or call 1-877-211-NAVI Or https://www.hmcnh.com/ or call 1-603-309-2021

In a significant step toward promoting health equity, the Marketplace application will now include optional demographic questions regarding sex assigned at birth, sexual orientation, and gender identity. These questions, aimed at analyzing health disparities, will enhance the consumer experience by allowing individuals to attest in a way that affirms their identities. Privacy is paramount, and the information collected will be safeguarded appropriately.

Further enriching the consumer experience, HealthCare.gov has undergone updates and enhancements. The application process now features improved navigation, allowing consumers to pick up where they left off and providing valuable tips along the way. Shopping for plans has been made more intuitive, with key plan information presented in a streamlined layout, enabling consumers to make informed decisions tailored to their needs.

Additionally, the plan summaries on HealthCare.gov now include cost-sharing information for urgent care and mental health outpatient visits. Consumers can now evaluate plans based on estimated total yearly costs, helping them find the most cost-effective option that suits their individual needs.
