The Science of Beer with Throwback Brewery

The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord, NH, will host its monthly Super Stellar Friday series on Feb. 3, 6:30 pm, by welcoming Throwback Brewery for a lesson in Beer Science. Ever wondered why your beer tastes the way it does and how commercial breweries can turn out beer that tastes the same batch after batch? The answer is science! In this talk, Throwback Brewery Co-Founders Annette and Nicole will go over the process of how beer is made, describing the science along the way. From microbiology to chemistry to engineering and with a whole lot of math in between, you can’t make (or taste!) really great beer without the wonders of science. Join us and learn plenty of fun facts about one of the world’s most popular and oldest beverages! Following the presentation, presenters will answer audience questions in a Q & A session, leaving time to explore the museum. See the museum’s website, starhop.com, to register.
