Due to a forecast for rain this Friday, the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center will move its Sci-Fi movie feature for this weekend, Gappa, or Monster from a Prehistoric Planet, to Sunday evening, October 18, at 6 p.m. The outdoor event takes place on the Discovery Center’s side lawn. Admission is by donation, and limited to the first 50 people to ensure social distancing. Snacks and drinks, including popcorn, candy, and hot cocoa, will be available for sale. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets; masks are required.
Outdoor Sci-Fi features for the following October weekends are The Phantom from 10,000 Leagues on Friday, October 23 and The Last Man on Earthon Friday, October 30at 6 p.m.
The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center features 21st century interactive exhibits on aviation, astronomy, Earth and space sciences, an all-digital, full-dome planetarium and a wide variety of science, technology, and engineering and mathematics programs.
