‘Tis the season for pop up holiday stores, and Concord’s Squid Flip, run by 12 year old Owen Simoes is no exception. Owen has a busy agenda of holiday offerings planned, starting with a new chalked paint and other holiday items for sale at Concord Handmade, the original pop up store, on Pleasant Street.

Next, look for Owen on Saturday, December 8 at the Bishop Brady Christmas Craft Fair, starting at 9 am at the high school.

But the big news is that Owen will host a holiday pop up store in Concord’s Steeplegate Mall from December 15 to the 16 with his own wonderful handmade gifts, suitcase tables and his own line of paint.

Owen has come a long way in the last year – he took on some very challenging projects, such as transforming classic suitcases into tables, and even turning old items like shoe forms into lamps. His sources for raw materials are flea markets, and yard sales then he adds his own style, with special touches in painting, accessories and rethinking. He was featured as a guest on GMA Day this fall, with his inspiration, Lara Spencer.
