Concord, NH – The Right Reverend A. Robert Hirschfeld, Bishop of the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire, ordained Timothy Brooks to the Sacred Order of Deacons on Saturday, June 6, where he was joined by family and friends as part of the ceremony held at St. Paul's Church in Concord.
Brooks is a single parent living in northern New Hampshire on a self-sufficient farm with his ten year old son, Bennett. Together they enjoy hiking, skiing, gardening, sugaring, gathering firewood, playing baseball, kayaking and working their team of Clydesdales. They put up their food and raise beef/dairy cows and chickens. Timothy serves on the board of selectmen for his town and is a thirty-year veteran elementary teacher.
Being ordained as a Deacon is a requirement before ordination as a priest in the Episcopal Church. Ordinands serve as Deacons for at least six months before becoming Priests. For more information about the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire, visit www.nhepiscopal.org.
