, November 29, 2014 - The NH Philharmonic, joined by thePinkerton Academy student choir, celebrates the winter season with the Holiday Pops.

 

From Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker to Anderson's Sleigh Ride, the music will put listeners in the mood for the holiday season. The program will also include a delightful arrangement of Russian Christmas music, Strauss's Tales from the Vienna Woods, and the U.S. premier ofBehold the Night by Larysa Kuzmenko. 

The youthful choristers of Pinkerton Academy will join the NH Phil for a selection of music for chorus and orchestra.

   

Leading the orchestra is Music Director Mark Latham. He received his musical training at the Guildhall School (London), Philadelphia College of Performing Arts, Brooklyn College Conservatory, and the University of Michigan. He trained in violin and chamber music at Eastman, Juilliard, Aspen Music Festival and Banff Festival. A keen advocate of the music of our times, Latham has given numerous world premieres both as conductor and violinist.

 

The concert takes place on November 29, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at the Stockbridge Theatre Derry. Standard ticket prices range from $12- $50, with discounts available for seniors. Students from Elementary-College are now $5.
