Sweets and Treats

August 4-8

From “Cupcake Wars” to “Unique Sweets,” food – the art and the preparation of it – has come into its own. No one can deny that cake decorating is an art form, and this week we’ll have a professional baker demonstrate how she creates a masterpiece. We’ll also create art by looking at artists that have used food as their inspiration – from Claes Oldenberg’s ice cream cone sculpture, to Wayne Thiebaud’s cake and candy paintings, and the Currier’s own Still Life with Chocolates by James Aponovich. We’ll have a blast and discover if we really are what we eat! Camps are for children ages 5 to 12. Full day camp is available from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (1st grade+) for $270 or Half Day camp is available from 9 a.m. to noon (K-1st) for $160. After camp care is available from 3-4:30 p.m. for an additional $30. To learn more or to register, visit CURRIER.ORG/art-center/programs or call 603.669.6144, x122.

Recycled Art!
