Currier Museum Art Center Summer Vacation Art Camp

The Moody Currier School of Wizardry

August 11-15

Making art IS magic! With just a few simple shapes, you can create a goblet, a flying car, a goblin or a goose laying a golden egg. By drawing something REALLY BIG, next to something that’s really small you can make a world of giants. You can invent a game (including the rules!), construct a house that’s a castle or sits in a tree, design your own coat-of-arms, paint a unicorn or dragon and draw something that looks so real people want to touch it. Let your imagination fly this week as we explore the magic of creating art! Camps are for children ages 5 to 12. Full-day camp is available from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (1st grade+) for $270 or half-day camp is available from 9 a.m. to noon (K-1st) for $160. After-camp care is available from 3-4:30 p.m. for an additional $30. To learn more or to register, visit CURRIER.ORG/art-center/programs or call 603.669.6144, x122.

Drawing, Drawing, Drawing!

August 11-15, 1-4 p.m.

This is the summer version of our popular “Drawing for Beginners” class for adult and teen students who really want to learn how to “see” – and by extension, how to draw. Concepts such as contour, value, proportion, shape and composition are just some of the areas that will be covered, and the use of various media such as graphite, charcoal and conté crayon will allow students to experience what each “tool” can do to enhance self-expression. All students will have a solid grounding in basic drawing techniques by the end of the session. Join us, have fun and be challenged while learning why drawing is truly the root for making art! $225, Maximum 10 students.
