The Mount Washington Cog Railway Offers Summer Photo Tours

MARSHFIELD STATION, NH - The Mount Washington Cog Railway is open for its 145th season of bringing visitors to the summit of the Northeast's highest peak.  Once again this year, the Cog is offering the popular Summer Photo Workshop Series.

This season, each tour will have a different focus and will be geared to varying ability levels. The first of three in the series, the Flowers and Trains Photo Tour will be held on June 15 and is recommended all levels of ability. It will focus on capturing such diverse subjects as White Mountain spring flowers and passing trains, with two hours at the summit and photo time at Marshfield Base Station.

The Alpine Garden Photo Tour, held on July 13, is a photo tour for advanced photographers and will include a hiking excursion with a full day at the summit. This tour is designed for those who would like to experience shooting the Alpine Garden as well as summit hiking.

The Summit Photo Tour, on July 21, will focus on the summit of Mount Washington itself as a subject. With two hours to spend at the top, there will be plenty of vantage points for shooting the passing trains, panoramic views and unique characteristics of the weather of the Presidential range.

Limited space is available for all tours. Photos tours must book in advance by calling 800.922.8825 or 603.278.5404. Details for all events can be found at thecog.com.
