New Responsibilities for Adam Chadbourne

"Adam's hire was an important strategic initiative for our organization, " says Peter Stokloza, WVBBTS & WVA Executive Director and CEO.  "Our goal is to provide the very best programming in the nation and Adam's accomplishments are unmatched."

Today in Sochi, a third athlete that Adam coached extensively has medaled.  That would be Mikaela Shiffrin winning gold in the slalom.  Add to that Ted Ligety's gold in GS and Andrew Weibrecht's silver in Super G and you see the trend.

Adam joined us in June of 2013 and as the Director of Athletic Performance he has bent his keen intellect and winning perspective towards improving all things athletic from individualized athlete management plans to developing an organizational athletic philosophy encompassing Mitey Mites through Masters.  Adam has worked closely with Athletic Director, Tom Barbeau, this season as a U16 coach and learned what we do well and where we can improve.

Improvement is something Adam does well.  Over the course of 7 years at Burke, as their Alpine Program Director and Head Women's Coach, he engineered tremendous program growth and the increased realization of athletic potential amongst the kids he coached.  Prior to that were 3 years as the Men's National Team Coach in Park City, and another 3 years as the Eastern Youth Development Coach and Coordinator for USSA.  He's also a USSA level 500 Certified Coach and was awarded Coach of the Year in 2010 by USSA.

"I'm very pleased to report that Adam has agreed to take the position of Head Women's Coach and Pinnacle Coach, starting this spring, in addition to his overarching title of Director of Athletic Performance," says Stokloza.  "We've developed on a new tagline, 'Fueling Olympic Dreams' and that's exactly what we're actively pursuing, the placement of our athletes on national and Olympic teams.  I couldn't have a better wingman in this endeavor."
