Robin Abbott earns designation as Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy

Robin Abbott, director of gift planning at the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, has been awarded the professional designation of Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) by the Richard D. Irwin Graduate School of the American College, based in Bryn Mawr, PA.

The CAP program provides professionals in the nonprofit and financial services fields with the knowledge and tools they need to help clients reach their charitable giving objectives, while also addressing their estate planning and wealth management goals. Candidates for the CAP designation must complete a minimum of three course in philanthropic studies at Irwin Graduate School as well as six hours of supervised written examinations.

At the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, Abbott works closely with a network of professional advisors, including trust and estate attorneys, corporate attorneys, wealth managers, financial managers and CPAs          to assist donors with charitable gift planning, including current and planned gifts with complex assets.

The American College is a nonprofit educational institution with a record of serving financial service companies and their employees or over 82 years. 

The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation manages a growing collection of charitable funds created by individuals, families and corporations. It serves communities throughout New Hampshire, making grants and student aid awards annually totaling about $35 million.
