WATERVILLE VALLEY, NH - The Margret and H.A. Rey Center and Waterville Valley Town Square present an eclectic collection of local area talent coming together in support of the Margret and H.A. Rey Center’s art education programs. We invite you to view the talent of 20 local area artists who have generously donated their work for this fundraising exhibit titled “The Art of Giving.” Their work will be on display in the Rey Center Gallery from Friday, July 1st to Saturday, July 30th with an opening reception on Friday, July 1 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The exhibit and the opening are free and open to the public. If you like what you see, join us on Saturday, July 30 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm for “Art, Wine and Cheese” presented by Waterville Valley Town Square. This event will feature 20 different wines for tasting and food from Diamond’s Edge North Restaurant, Wild Coyote Grill, and Jugtown Country Store of Waterville Valley, as well as cheeses from Cabot Creamery of Vermont, followed by a live and silent art auction, where you will get the opportunity to bid on your favorite works of art. Live music will be provided by Smooth Duo.
The Margret and H.A. Rey Center Art Gallery is open Wednesday-Saturday from 10:00 am-5:00 pm, there is no charge to attend. Tickets for the Art, Wine and Cheese event are $15 per person and are available for purchase at the door or in advance at the Rey Center. There is no charge to attend the art auction, which will begin at 4:00 p.m. on July 30. This event is generously sponsored by Waterville Valley Town Square, Diamond’s Edge Restaurant, Wild Coyote Grill, Jugtown Country Store and Cabot Creamery of Vermont.
Margret and H.A. Rey, authors of the Curious George children’s book series and former summer residents of Waterville Valley, NH, were artists and adventurers, historians and naturalists, gardeners and stewards. Today their spirit lives on in the Margret and H.A. Rey Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the Reys’ spirit of curiosity and discovery by increasing understanding of and participation in art, science and nature through programs for youth, adults and families. The Margret and H.A. Rey Center is located on the second level of Waterville Valley Resort’s Town Square.
