When:  Thursday, July 7, tour - 5:30-6:45pm, lecture - 7pm.

Where:  Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center, Laconia

Thomas C. Hubka, Professor of Architecture at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and author of Big House, Little House, Back House, Barn – The Connected Farm Buildings of New England will present the evening’s program on this building type unique to New England. The illustrated talk will focus on case studies that show how farmers converted their separate house and barns into connected farmsteads. Photos of local farmsteads will be integrated into his presentation.

This program will be held in the Samuel Pardoe Building at the Prescott Farm and is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served after the presentation.

An optional barn tour of the Prescott Farm barns will be offered from 5:30pm – 6:45pm for $15 (includes light fare). Please call the Preservation Alliance to register. Tour space is limited.
