Historic Preservation Matching Grant Opportunity for Private Non-Profit Organizations Announced By The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance and The 1772 Foundation

The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance and The 1772 Foundation have announced that 1:1 matching grants of up to $10,000 are available for historic preservation projects. Check for more information or email and include 1772 Foundation in the subject line. December 1, 2021 is the deadline for a letter of intent, the first stage of the application process. To be eligible, organizations must have a 501(c)(3) IRS designation. Old

Eligible projects include: exterior painting, finishes and surface restoration; upgrades to/installation of fire detection; lightning protection and security systems; repairs to/restoration of porches, roofs and windows;structural foundation and sill repair/replacement and chimney and masonry repointing. 

Past grants have supported 26 rehabilitation and restoration projects for a variety of community landmark buildings throughout the state. The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance strengthens communities and stimulates local economies by encouraging the protection and revival of historic buildings and places.  The 1772 Foundation works to ensure the safe passage of our historic buildings and farmland to future generations.
