The Phantom from 10,000 Leagues is a classic, low-budget 1950s creature-feature. The movie follows biologist Dr. Ted Stevens and federal agent William Grant as they investigate the mysterious death of a fisherman whose body washed ashore covered in radioactive burns. Their search for answers leads Dr. Stevens to local marine biologist Professor King, King’s daughter, and a horrible sea monster terrorizing the citizens of a coastal town. This 1955 monster movie runs one hour and 21 minutes and is rated PG.
The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center features 21st century interactive exhibits on aviation, astronomy, Earth and space sciences, an all-digital, full-dome planetarium and a wide variety of science, technology, and engineering and mathematics programs. The engaging, robust educational programs are geared towards families, teens, seniors, students, community groups and lifelong learners. For more information, visit www.starhop.com.
