The Hotel Concord presents Summer on the Sidewalk, a biweekly local music showcase featuring musicians from the Concord Community Music School, Thursday evenings from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Grab a drink from The Lobbyist or dinner from O Steaks and Seafood, relax in the evening breeze, and soak in the sounds of summer with some local musicians.
Starting on Thursday, June 27th, starting at 5:00 PM, the talented duo Audrey Budington and Anders Larson take the Summer on the Sidewalk spotlight, with an unforgettable musical mashup that will expand your definition of “folk."
Audrey Budington, Concord Community Music School alumna, award-winning fiddler, composer, and 2018 graduate of Berklee College of Music under their Presidential Scholarship, has been playing the violin since she was four. Classically trained, her true loves are traditional, New England, Celtic and fusion, pop, and rock. Audrey has played for scores of contra dances throughout New England, the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest and Quebec. She has provided original live music for ballets, performed for two NH Governors, played for the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, and represented the State of NH at The Big E in West Springfield, MA. Audrey has played in numerous film scoring and album sessions; has been the opening act with Black Violin and guest artist with Darlingside; and had played on countless stages and in festivals throughout New England.
Anders Larson lives in Goffstown and has been taking weekly lessons and participating and soloing in the Scholarship Folk Ensemble with Liz Faiella at the Concord Community Music School for the past three years. An adept multi-instrumentalist, he plays Irish traditional music on fiddle, concertina, guitar, and bouzouki. He has traveled throughout New Hampshire and Maine to study with some of New England's finest Irish traditional musicians, and has performed at the New Hampshire State House, St. Anselm College, Acadia Trad Festival, and Maine Fiddle Camp, among other venues.
