Concord, NH – On Friday night, June 7 at 7 p.m., the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Centerand NH PBS offer a sneak peek at Chasing the Moon, the special new PBS series created to commemorate the upcoming 50thanniversary of the first moon landing. The special showing will be followed by a discussion led by Dr. Andrew Jordan, lunar researcher at the University of New Hampshire. The all-inclusive admission cost for the program, panel discussion and exploration of the Discovery Center’s exhibits is $13.50 for adults, $12.50 for students and seniors, $8.50 for children and free for members. Join the Discovery Center and NHPBS for a sneak peek of the new American Experience series "Chasing the Moon" at this month's Super Stellar Friday! Following the video, Dr. Andrew Jordan, a Research Scientist at UNH, will answer visitor questions about the episode! Jordan holds a Ph.D. from Boston University. He is a research scientist at the Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans, and Space at the University of New Hampshire. He is a member of the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter team and currently studies how energetic charged particles affected lunar soil and water ice. His previous research focused on the mitigation of cosmic rays by the Earth’s magnetosphere. Read more →
