CONCORD — On Thursday April 11, from 12 – 2 pm in the Library Living Room, NHTI will hold its 18th Annual Celebration of Poetry, featuring Domenic Scopa. The event includes a reading by Mr. Scopa, followed by a reception and open mic. Members of the college and the community are invited to listen and participate. Admission is free.
Domenic J. Scopa is a four-time Pushcart Prize nominee, two-time Best of the Net nominee, and the 2014 recipient of the Robert K. Johnson Poetry Prize. He holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. His poetry and translations have been featured in The Adirondack Review, Reed Magazine, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, Reunion: The Dallas Review, Prime Number, and many others. His debut collection of poetry, The Apathy of Clouds, was published by FutureCycle Press in 2018. He is currently working on another collection of poems and a book about the function of surrealism in the poetry of the late confessional poets. He is currently a Lecturer of English & General Studies at NHTI, Concord’s Community College.
