The Ugandan Kids Choir has travelled across the world to engage U.S. audiences in their high-energy performance of traditional African songs and dances; their tour brings them to the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center on Saturday afternoon, July 7, for a free public performance at 3:30 p.m. in the planetarium theater. In 1892 the address of: RFD No. 7, Laconia, New Hampshire was established for lake mail service.  This began the tradition of delivering mail to summer island residents of Lake Winnipesaukee.  In this time there have been only five mail boats to service this established route. The present mail boat, M/V Sophie C., has held the contract since 1969.
