If you take an evening cruise aboard the M/S Mount Washington, keep an eye out for Captain Denis Finnerty. For 12 seasons he’s been working for the company, 11 of them on the bridge of the Mount. On Mother’s Day this year, he took his first cruise on the vessel as Captain and has spent the season largely covering nighttime cruises. Read more →


The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center is delighted to remind Granite Staters that shooting stars will once again fill the night skies, when the Perseid Meteor Showers return August 11-13. The waning moon will wash out fainter meteors, but as this meteor shower is known for its high prevalence of fireballs, there should still be a great sky show, with forty to fifty ‘shooting stars’ per minute visible in the night sky.
