Jim Morash has worked on the M/S Mount Washington for 38 years, starting when he was in college as a deck hand. His long-time love for the ship as he worked his way through the ranks eventually led to his current role, as co-owner, chief of operations and captain.
Capt. Bob Duffey remembers admiring the M/S Mount Washington during family vacations to the Lakes Region as a kid. It was always an event seeing the ship come into the dock.
-On Saturday, August 5th, Waterville Valley’s Annual Ugotta Regatta returns to the waters of Corcoran Pond. The free canoe, kayak, and paddle boat races will be held at the five-acre pond next to Town Square.
The Denali Challenge is designed for adventurous people who are fit. On August 11 to 13, 2017, Waterville Valley Five Summit Challenge hikers can take on five peaks in one weekend.

The Mount Washington Cog Railway will be hosting the 3rd Annual Fireworks Event to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of the North Country on Saturday, July 22nd at Marshfield Base Station. The event will kick off with a three-hour train ride to the summit of Mount Washington departing at 4:30 pm. Upon return to the Base Station, there will be a bbq dinner with DJ, lots of activities for kids of all ages and prize raffles. At dusk the NH Pyrotechnic Association will put on a spectacular firework display for all to enjoy. Visitors can come for the train ride or just the evening activities.
Wednesday evenings beginning July 12, the M/S Mount Washington transforms into a family party cruise, with entertainment for guests of all ages. These cruises run weekly through August 23.
With the beauty of the White Mountains as a backdrop, Waterville Valley invites guests to attend their 4th annual Resort Artisan Fair event on Saturday, July 15.

Guests enjoy a two and a half hour scenic cruise around Lake Winnipesaukee complete with a champagne brunch and entertainment for all ages. Cruises start at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. from Weirs Beach and from 11:15 a.m. from Alton Bay.
