On Thursday, March 2, Peggy Senter, president and founder of the Music School, will give a lecture titled “Musical Migrations: Schubert, Spirituals & Show Tunes.” The following week, on Thursday, March 9, Music School faculty members Hannah Schramm Murray, soprano, and Calvin Herst, piano, will team up to present a concert titled “Taking Flight: American Songs of Migration.”
The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center will be open from 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. every day for February vacation, from Saturday, February 18 through Sunday, March 5. Concord’s annual March Mandolin Festival is celebrating its 15th year! This year’s festival presents two concerts with a lineup of virtuoso mandolinists, whose musicianship showcases the range and expressive qualities of the mandolin. The concerts will take place on Friday, March 3 at the Stone Church in Newmarket and on Saturday, March 4 at the Concord Community Music School in Concord.
