On Friday night, February 3, Astronomer Dave McDonald, M.Ed. returns to the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center to present Meteors, Comets and Asteroids, Oh My! McDonald will discuss the nature of these objects, their origin, how likely it is that they will strike the Earth and what happens when they do. The lead-up to McDonald’s presentation will be the planetarium show Impact Earth. Exhibit galleries open at 6:30 p.m. to enable visitors to explore the new exhibition, Great Balls of Fire; Impact Earth begins at 7 p.m., followed by Meteors, Comets and Asteroids, Oh My! at 8:15 p.m.
