MARSHFIELD STATION, NH - The Mount Washington Cog Railway is open for its 146th season of bringing visitors to the summit of the Northeast's highest peak. Once again this year, the Cog is offering the popular Summit Photo Tour.
The Summit Photo Tour will be offered on Monday, July 13 and again on Sunday September 13, and will be lead by professional photographer George Mitchell. It will focus on the summit and surrounding vantage points from Mount Washington as a subject. Students will also get a chance to shoot the passing trains, panoramic views and unique characteristics of the weather of the Presidential range.
The tour is a day long venture consisting of a two hour round trip train ride to the summit and back down, with four hours to spend at the top walking to various points around the mountaintop. There will be time to enjoy lunch and activities as well as the new Extreme Mount Washington exhibit at the Sherman Adams Summit Building.
Limited space is available. Summit Photo Tours are $165 per person. Tours include train ride, one-on-one instruction and boxed lunch. Tour will depart on the 10:30 am train and return to the Base by 5:30 pm. Participants are asked to arrive 1 hour prior to departure for an introductory session in the lobby. Please book in advance by calling 603.278.2255 or 603.278.5404. Details and times for all events can be found online at thecog.com.
