The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center kicks off its 2014 Homeschool Series on the Solar System with a Thursday, October 9 workshop on the sun from 1:30 – 3 p.m. With a Level 1 session geared toward elementary-age students and a Level 2 session geared toward middle schoolers, the October 9 workshop will focus on the sun, including its nature, composition, how it creates heat and light, and how it compares to other stars. An optional showing of “Family of the Sun” in the planetarium will follow Thursday’s workshop. Read more →
