The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center kicks off its 2014 Homeschool Series on the Solar System with a Thursday, October 9 workshop on the sun from 1:30 – 3 p.m. With a Level 1 session geared toward elementary-age students and a Level 2 session geared toward middle schoolers, the October 9 workshop will focus on the sun, including its nature, composition, how it creates heat and light, and how it compares to other stars.
