First Black Bear Half Marathon and 5K comes to Waterville Valley

Waterville Valley, NH --The Black Bear Half Marathon and 5K race will bring runners to the mountain resort village of Waterville Valley on August 25, 2013.

 

This inaugural event is the fourth half marathon in the 2013 New England Half Marathon Tour run by 3C Race Productions.

 

The new Black Bear event offers a challenging and scenic half marathon or 5K course along quiet country roads in one of New Hampshire’s most beautiful towns.  Runners of all ages are welcome and will be treated to a first class experience.

The half marathon kicks off with a counter-clockwise loop through Waterville Valley resort along Corcoran Pond, Boulder Path Road, the Waterville Valley Golf Course, West Branch Road and then Tripoli Road, with the finish in the village.

There will be numerous fluid stations along the course and a post-race party with fresh fruit and refreshments. Runners can pick up a tag and race packet the morning of the race starting at 7:00 a.m. at Packard Field. 

The half marathon will be run Sunday, August 25, at 9:00 a.m. The 5K starts at 9:30 a.m.  Twenty percent of all entry fees will be donated to Plymouth [NH] Regional High School’s cross country and track team.
