American Hiking Society's annual trail awareness program, National Trails Day® (NTD), encourages the public and trail enthusiasts nationwide to seek out their favorite trails to discover, learn about, and celebrate trails while participating in educational exhibits, trail dedications, gear demonstrations, instructional workshops and trail work projects. The Waterville Valley Athletic and Improvement Association (WVAIA) in association with the Margret & H.A. McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center celebrated National Day in Saudi Arabia

The American Embassy National Day Celebration in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on March 24, 2010, featured the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center of Concord, New Hampshire, USA. The Discovery Center designed the Embassy’s National Day exhibition on space exploration. Discovery Center Commissioner Erle B. Pierce participated in the celebration as a guest of Ambassador James Smith and his wife, Dr. Janet Breslin-Smith. National Day celebrations are held each year in U.S. Embassies worldwide. “Casting for Kirby” Waterville Valley Resort Youth Fishing Derby

The Town of Waterville Valley Departments of Public Safety & Recreation will present a Youth Fishing Derby, on Saturday May 29, 2010. The event, for kids up to 15 years of age, will take place over Memorial Day Weekend on the Shores of Corcoran’s Pond from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. with staggered starting times by age group. Rey Center announces the opening reception of “A CHANGE OF SCENERY” on Friday, May 28 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The exhibit features work by two New Hampshire artists: Michelle Johnsen, a painter, and Ian Raymond, a photographer. “A Change of Scenery” refers to the way the look and feel of a landscape changes in different artists’ hands.
