WVBBTS/SNOWSPORTS EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION SENDING 16 ATHLETES TO THE USASA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS IN COPPER MOUNTAIN, COLORADO

March 15, 2013 - Waterville Valley, NH - Waterville Valley Black & Blue Trail Smashers Snowsports Educational Foundation (WVBBTS/SEF) is sending 16 snowboard athletes to compete in the 2013 United States of America Snowboard Association (USASA) National Championships in Copper Mountain, Colorado from March 30-April 5.  WVBBTS/SEF athletes will compete in 4 disciplines of snowboarding -- slope style, boardercross, slalom and giant slalom.  Athletes will be accompanied by coaches Pete Thorndike, Timmy McLaughlin and Al Grogan.

WVBBTS/SEF riders competing in the USASA Nationals are: Nora Healey; Hannah Kelsey; Paige Sherwood; Luke Saia; Sam Gildea; Max Saia; Nate True; Kevin Healey; Jackson Saia; Doug Anthony; Elliot Thomas; Dillon Mailand; Conner Welch; Nick Sherwood; Danny McGonagle; and Logan Essaff.

WVBBTS Snowsports Educational Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit. We offer superior training programs for athletes dedicated to excellence in alpine racing, freestyle skiing, and snowboarding and featuring outstanding coaches. WVBBTS/SEF also operates Waterville Valley Academy.  WVA offerings include a middle school Peak Program, a Winter Term Program, and in 2013 will unveil the Pinnacle Program, a full-year trimester program that enables high-level student-athletes to manage and balance athletic and academic goals with the highest degree of focus placed on snowsports during the competition season.
