Thanks to efforts by the New Hampshire Dental Society and dentists from all around New Hampshire, last week more than 1,500 kids were given brighter smiles and healthier teeth and gums. Thanks to the volunteer efforts of more than 50 dentists The Give Kids A Smile program ran on Friday, February 3 to help kick off the National Children’s Dental Health Month.
For many families in New Hampshire, affording regular oral health care can be difficult. To give children the smiles they deserve the Give Kids A Smile program stretched across the state, and the country, providing preventive and restorative oral care, including cleanings, sealants, fillings, and x-rays. Fifty-three New Hampshire dentists, at twelve locations, participated in the program and were able to give care to 1,517 children who may not have received oral care otherwise. Give Kids a Smile is an annual program that has proven effective in providing oral care to children, which is vital to overall health and well being.
