Experience the taste of New Hampshire’s wines on the M/S Mount Washington

New this season to the M/S Mount Washington sunset dinner cruise lineup is the New Hampshire Winery Cruise on Thursday, August 5. Cruisers will be able to sample wines from seven of the Granite State’s wineries. This unique opportunity will be combined with live entertainment, dancing and appetizers, all on the waters of Lake Winnipesaukee.

“The wineries featured on this cruise are among the best in the state,” says Captain Jim Morash. “We are happy to be able to support local businesses by partnering with them to provide our guests a unique experience.”

Jewell Towne Vineyards, Flag Hill Winery & Distillery, Farnum Hill Ciders, Zorvino Vineyards, Candia Vineyards, Haunting Whisper Vineyards, and Labelle Winery will all be on board the ship offering samples to passengers. Appetizer stations will be scattered throughout the vessel. The menu this evening will include smoked turkey, tenderloin medallions, antipasto, fruit and vegetable crudités displays, and a Vermont cheese display.

Tickets for the NH Winery Cruise are $43 per person. The cruise departs from Weirs Beach at 6:30 p.m., with boarding time at 6 p.m. The M/S Mount Washington will return to the shores of Weirs Beach at 9:30 p.m.

The official 2010 season for the cruise line runs from May 22 until October 24. Daily two and three hour cruises depart from Weirs Beach as well as Wolfeboro, Alton Bay, Center Harbor, and Meredith. Daytime cruises depart at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 11:15 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. In the spring and fall, dinner dance cruise are available on the weekends. During the months of July and August, evening cruises are offered Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

The M/S Mount Washington features four levels, three dance floors, and several outside areas for enjoying the cruise during the daytime or evening. The family-owned ship operates May through October, offering daytime scenic, evening dinner & dance, and special themed cruises. With a capacity of 1,250 passengers, the Mount serves as the largest restaurant in the state and a popular gathering point for school proms, college reunions, large corporate celebrations and weddings--approximately 700 couples have tied the knot aboard the M/S Mount Washington.
