The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord is going to go to the dark side for October with their Friday night movies – offering up some classic horror films: Creature from the Black Lagoon, one of the coolest 1950s atomic era sci-fi releases, on October 18, followed by Frankenstein – the original 1931 version starring Boris Karloff in his most famous role, on October 25. These haunted offerings are free to members, and open to the general public for a small fee.
The Discovery Center in Concord is a lively science center, featuring 21st century interactive exhibits on aviation, astronomy, Earth and space sciences, a state-of-the-art planetarium and a variety of science and engineering programs.
The engaging, robust educational programs are geared towards families, teens, seniors, students, community groups, and lifelong learners. The Discovery Center includes facilities for conferences and special events, and a NASA Educator Resource Center.
